A poet’s vocation is to reflect
Inspiration from what others
Fear and reject
Put it on rhyme
An extra dimension to your whine
It’s all right in your pen
When you need a meal, when
Inspiration flows then
You get your wish but when
It’s not enough what that you churn
Torch something and say that it needed to burn

And when the weight is a little light in your purse…
Put it on verse
Make a controverse
An altoverse or a commonverse
Expand to a play
Save the day or
Make faces turn
Away in dis-oh-may
Speak of love to the fey
Or harsh reality
Of we and they
And when nothing more seems to do the trick…
Start from the top and announce you’re gay

Call it "Mind Boggle." If you use "fey" in the next piece you post I'll personally come over and hit you in the head with a skillet.

I got a writer's nervous energy from this.

Thanks alot - now I've got to confront the fact that a) I don't know what a skillet is and b) I've used the same purple word in two pieces in a row; taken together this has the potential of throwing me way down from the kickback on the curve which my mind is currently riding.
Or not. And I just remembered what a skillet is. You're one cruel house wife, you are.
Oh, and I gather you kind of liked it...?

Of course! If it incites me to skillet wielding you should know that!

Don't worry about the word. I have a few that have cropped up repeatedly in my pieces and I didn't realize it til it was pointed out to me. If it fits, use it.
