A line out is supposed to be for sending a signal direct into a board or mixer.

The AOR's came two ways, one version had a preamp out and power amp in jack, this is not a loop. This is for sending the preamp signal out to a slave amp or running an external preamp into the AOR. The other version had an effects loop.

You can have a loop added.

well that would cost some time and money. id rather just buy a newer model sometime soon..so should i totaly stop using the jack's in the back as loop ?am i gonna screw up my amp like that.?.cuz so far nothing has happened..and it works and it sounds good. and would the built in effects loop on boss ns-2 do anything for me? how do you set that up? ive never messed with the ns-2 effects loop. im just curiouse about effect loops and shit. by the way thanks for the replies guys.

You're not going to hurt the amp. It just won't sound as good as a loop would.

It works because they both do the same thing, take the signal out after the preamp and return signal before the power amp section of the amp. The difference is the loop will knock the level down to instrument level so it's the proper level an effects pedal expects to see and a loop has a return amp to boost the signal back up. A loop has buffers also so the effects don't load down the signal.
