Nomad gifted me a stack of this band's work. I am completely underwhelmed by it. I am currently drinking out of a coffee cup that is more 'epic'.

Can someone else say 'Crawl up your own urethral opening so you can fuck off twice'?
I've listened to Blood in our Wells twice now and it was like pulling teeth both times. Tracks like Furrows of the Gods bore me worst of all. I am not into waiting 4x4 bars for a chord change. That isn't ambient, it isn't atmospheric, it's just lazy, shitty, indulgent songwriting.
If you're going to write slow, sludgy, underproduced black metal it'd better have some REALLY REALLY SERIOUSLY REDEEMING OTHER FEATURE. This stuff doesn't. It's as evocative as a pancake.

Even so, there *might* be another issue at work here that isn't the expectation effect. Remember, if a band is NOT VERY GOOD there is a high possibility people GENERALLY WON'T LIKE IT. Anyway, I will now listen to a lot of Portishead to prove myself TR00LY BR00TAL. Lounge jazz = uberkvlt pagan.

i like trip-hop.
autumn aurora is drudkh's best album, for sure. I really enjoyed blood in our wells just because i'm used to the minimalistic style that drudkh plays. If you give drudkh another chance, which i strongly suggest, make sure that you play A.A. while listening to it with headphones.
