gore metal is a pretty broad category. I would have to say Carcass started gore metal and then there was a wave of carcass worship bands after that. The vocals are done using processors and such, I dont know exactly which ones.

that "belching type vocal noise" is their voices growling, they're just trying to say words and growl at the same time. some of them use processors to enhance their voice by making them lower and stuff, but not of all them use processors.

i like cannibal corpse a lot, i jsut wish they didn't have the songs like stripped raped and strangled, and the other shit about rape. i know they don't take it seriously, but rape isn't something to be taken lightly, if u don't understand that you will when someone u really care about gets raped.

I agree about the rape topic. I don't take it very lightly either. There is one cool song that has the topic of rape. It's buy Pungent Stench. The song is called "Rape" as a
matter of fact.
It's about this girl who is raped and goes to the police only to figure out they dont believe her. Your standard "the bitch was asking for it" type thing. So she calls up her friends and they get the guy, beat the shit out of him, and finally cut of his balls and stuff them in his mouth to watch him suffocate. Very nice.
The ending lyrics are "All the raped women should get they're revenge, kill those motherfuckers say Pungent Stench!"
