I dont usually listen to power metal. I love the guitar work in the music. infact most of the music is just genious. the only thing that turns me off of the whole genre is the vocals (Think vocals like Dragonforce) If there is such a thing as power metal with a different style of vocals...can anyone suggest some bands? thanks.

DEMONIAC!!!! Dragonforce guitars (literally, its Herman Li from Dragonforce) and rhaspy ass vocals. dont get their first album, the second is questionable, the third is THE FIRE AND THE WIND and its straight up power metal, minus the vocals, which are really really rhaspy. |

Cowboys From Hell is Pantera's only decent album. I didn't like anything after that. They're more of a cheap Exhorder rip off than Children of Bodom are a cheap Absurdus rip off.

Just discovered a very good power metal band called Firewind. The guitar player is Gus G. They just released an album this year called "Allegiance" Kicks all kinds of ass, trust me.

Gus G was also in Dream Evil and he has a badass power-thrashy project called Mystic Prophecy, which kick all sorts of ass and cunt.
Firewind is excellent, especially the first 2 albums. |

Yes, I was already aware of Gus G. through Nightrage a while ago. I think I mentioned Dream Evil's newest album in here or some band thread recently. This new Firewind CD is reaaaalllly growing on me though. Great singing.

I picked up Heavenly - Virus this week. This is a REALLY good power metal/prog album. I've listenend to it probably a dozen or so times already.
