When life gets too serious, we've always got.....The Misfits
Any other fiends around here? Been one of my favorite bands for a long fuckin time, never ever fails to bring me out of a bad mood.
Another thing, what the fuck is up with them lately anyway? They've done about 300 split singles with different bands, played with the Ramones and a hundred other punk bands but still no word on a new vocalist or album. Hmmmm

Well, I cannot deny that I love old misfits when glen was in the band. I think lyrically they were way ahead of their time. I do not/will not listen to the new stuff however.

I had that same attitude all the way through their American Psycho tour after they released that album. I wouldn't listen to it because I thought it corrupted the whole Misfits vibe. A friend of mine got me to listen to the newer stuff, and in my opinion they haven't missed a beat at all. Danzig was awesome and there's no denying that but the Misfits are an institution, something that must go on no matter what. Alot of people seem to think that Danzig was the heart of the Misfits but if ya ask me its Jerry Only. He started the fuckin band and still remains 110% devoted, and one of the most insane live bass players I've ever fuckin seen. The more recent vocals, now ex-vocalist Michale Graves I thought was an amazing vocalist, fucking excellent voice and able to sing classic Misfits style melodies. But anyway, of course thats only my opinion. If you want to live and die by Glen Danzig, a person who hardly even recognizes his past with the band since he despises it so much then thats your bag. |

I'm something of a quiet Misfits fan.
I think they're a bit like Tower of Power (if you don't know them, fuck you). They're first and foremost a sound and an attitude, and it hasn't really changed that much over time.

Hell yeah misfists are just a band that gets you in a good mood no matter what, but personally i like the ramones better, there just..wierd but awesome... GABBA GABBA HEY!
