Glenn has one of the most unique voices in death metal....their first album as Deicide was sick and I agree that Legion "kicks ass!"

Deicide is fucking awesome, no matter what you cuntheads say. You're all just jealous because your ears can't handle their greatness.

How exactly are we measuring brutality? I'll need some metrics to back up your claim or have to reject it as more cuntblather.
Deicide are all right, but it's hard to see them getting any attention except riding on the crest of the death metal wave that others really did the deserving work in getting going. But some of their shit's better than bad. And it was cool back when you could chat with Glen on MSN.

general brutality is pretty easy to hear, you know as well as i what it means to be heavy and brutal. this is a metal forum, so dont play semantics games for the sake of being a pain in the ass

This is a metal forum, so don't make stupid, unquantifiably hyperbolic claims for the sake of deflating such-and-such, much more modest, hyperbolic claims. Saying that 'Pestilence in 1987 was 10x as brutal as Deicide in 1990' is both asinine and false (the strain of metal they practiced wouldn't become as brutal as straightahead death for another decade or more; too unwieldy in early incarnations), and if you're going to say something dumb in a dumb way, expect a dumb criticism, because that type of response is what the comment merits. Unless, of course, you have anything that makes your claim either less asinine or less false.
Also, were brutality so easy to hear, we'd have more widespread agreement on what constitutes it. It's not as easy to categorize as, say, technicality. For example, when a band claims that their new album is their most technical, this is general indisputable; when it claims that it's their most brutal, as often as not it isn't. Why? Because 'brutal,' like 'heavy,' doesn't have as commonly-held a meaning as suggested by how common the words are in metalhead discourse.
Incidentally, that wasn't a semantic game.

Pestilence is a very weak sounding band. Sure they may be more technical than Deicide, but more brutal? Hardly.

I remember buying Deicides first album in 91 i think, that along cannibal corpses eaten back to life, that shit got me into death metal, i dont like new deicide now days, i guess you had to be there back then to appreciate them. In the early 90's that shit ruled. But not now.

True that, although I really wouldn't know, being relatively new to the scene. I like Deicide, but they aren't my favourite band. The new shit is good, its not extremely different from the old. Repent To Die is such a great song.
