80s charvel bridge P/U

I found a older charvel in the back of a used music store the other day. I'm guessing its a 86/87 japan model. It sounds pretty cool and was cheap but the only thing I can't find info on is the bridge pickup. Its got 2 single coils slanted next to each other. I don't really pay attention to vintage charvels but has anyone seen this before/have info on it?

Sweet find dude How much did you pay for it? It might be worth more then you realize, but I have never seen a guitar route so customized for such a unorthodox pickup. It is most certainly unique.

I would check and ask around some Charvel fan sites to learn more. You might have an odd ball prototype.

I payed $150 for it. It has a few dings but the neck is perfect and everything else is super solid. I will continue looking but I'm not really finding anything on it. Its really kind of weird, it has a 5 way selector so I guess its like a s/s/s but the middle is slammed with the bridge and the neck pickup is almost as hot and lively as the bridge.

I betting that guitar is worth more then $150. Keep looking for info and posting pics at Charvel sites. Some one knows what it is. I've never seen anything like it myself.

It looks like its just 2 single coils next to each other... if you put something like some SD Hotrails in there, it'd sound incredible

Wow I'd almost forgot about Charvels!
A friend of mine had a very similar model in the late 80's early 90's. It was a dark stained wood finish, similar pick up arrangement but it had an inverted headstock. Can't remember what it was called tho, sorry

I want a red Charvel, with black pickgaurd and Kahler trem. It's a really old model. Probably on ebay.
