He didn't say that you screwed up the syllable count. He said you screwed up the syntax in order to achieve the syllable count. Each line begins with a verb, which is nice, but the middle one is a present participle and the other two aren't, which isn't so nice.
But I'm not really sure a haiku requires you to have all verbs conjugate the same way.

Kindof. A haiku is more correct with a grammaticabreak, a very random example would be
leaves fall at daybreak, (initiation)
then bloody boddies fall too, (continuation)
