lunch by the lake

I enter

The cool wind brushes between my legs
a scent of a rotting corpse is near.
the hunger grows,
and I cannot restrain it.

Down by a lake,
there it lies
maggots.
rotting.
death.

a taste of carrion
once had,
must always be had.
an addiction to gore

snapping tendons and bone
as I feast
curtled blood falls down my neck
into my lap

then I rest.
