The only Sepultura I listen to is with Max Cavalera on vocals...
If any of their newer albums are better than Chaos AD or Arise, then I'll accept that I'm an idiot. But I don't think that's very likely.

I'm with John, Beneath the Remains is the album that got me into the band, saw 'em on the Arise tour about a year later they were bloody awesome!  Always laughed at Max chanting 'MASS HIPPYNOSIS' 
Plus it was when Andreas had busted his arm in a jet ski accident and he had a huge metal frame holding his arm in place! What a trooper(of doom obviously ) touring with your arm fucked like that, plus it was way more metal than Kerry King's panel pin arm band! haha!
I've seen Soulfly but wasn't that impressed, good, but not totally mind blowing, I also feel the Soulfly riffs are a little samey at times and too simplistic. I salute Max's attempts to experiment with different sounds/instruments and singers.
Derek Green???? That name sounds like someone who played bass in Angelwitch or that dodgy covers band from your local biker bar! Hahaha! He must be the only black dude in the world called Derek!!! In fact he must be the only dude in the world called Derek!!! 
Not really followed the Seps since Max split and what I've heard hasn't really inspired me I'm afraid.
I do recall the rumour that when James set himself on fire in Paris that Andreas was approached to fill in on guitar for Metallica. Turns out it was John Marshall from Metal Church who filled in(again, as he'd done so in '86 when James grazed his elbow or something falling off his Skateboard!!) |

I tried to giving Sepultura a chance after Max left and all their songs were boring and sounded the same.
Whoever said "Mass Hippynosis!" HAHAHA. There was some live Seputura bootleg I had with Max saying that over and over and "CHEERS! CHEERS ENGLAND! CHEERS! CHEERS ENGLAND!"
They were alot more entertaining (and better) when they were just a bunch of young punks from Brazil. In a couple of years Max is going to start acting like Bono. Just watch.
