old stuff
heres another few from an old scapbook
florescent lit shrines all
are an endless row of sterilized symmetric monotomy
condos, shopping malls,subdivisions all
an end result of rendered virtue/dull mechanical repitition
where computerized-machine-gods catalogue human submission
obedience to a stillborn life
consume,be silent, die
heres another
slave.
enjoys his work forever.
dies with a shit eating grin
another
despising eyes gone grey with hate
build us a steel,glass,concrete landscape
where the violence in you masticates
where this well-fed fuck perpetuates
deception,lies,upon the minds you rape
slit false hopes throat annihilate
the unwanted souls, this unwanted fate
in this broken wasteland be gone, suffocate
death industry
death in the streets
death industry
death in the streets

Oh, I thought you were writing about me! Shoot.
I liked the last one the best. I think it's because it had a meter and rhyme to it. It just hit me more. A lot of imagery in a few lines. I could also hear it as a Pantera type song.
Do you think your writing has changed since you wrote these since you said they're older?

yes, i dont really like the formula i was using. most of my writing followed these gudlines
-vaguely describe something-society, war on terror, the media, anything
-bitch and complain about it
-offer no solution, act like the world is gonna end.
the 2nd and 3rd i dont like that much, its a kind of cynicism that is self perpetuating, its not health to be so negative in your writing
so i like the first one because its something i see everyday. new england has probably the sharpest contrast between nieghborhoods of colonial buildings, textile mills and what is known as "west coast style sprawl" malls, condos, prefab buildings, modern industrial warehouse complexes that has been spreading here. <new orleans is another extreme example of this> where i live the city is redeveloping everything so rich people can move in. alot of developers<being from new jersey, maryland and other distant places> would just tear the stuff down for the ugliest city planning imaginable if people here didnt fight them tooth and nail.
there is a reason i dont live in places like las vegas,LA<which is a cool city but the ugliest in the world>denver, salt lake city and all the suburbs west of the rockies etc. west coast cities and towns, most of them, are like beehives for robots. you'd need a car just to navigate across town because to walk would be dreadfully boring to the point of suicide, its all a maze of strip malls, look alike prefab housing,8 lane highway streets, fuck that shit. keep that shit near the beltways, the middle-of nowhere-routes, i dont want that shit here where i live.

Well, at the time you wrote it it probably felt right so your attitude has changed. Maybe it's maturity or maybe more knowledge that's swayed you to think differently.
There was a story on Crime tv about a little burg on the NE coast that's just how you described. I think it was Bennington. People said that faces used to be familiar, but not anymore. Business grew and the familairity was gone.
Maybe the reason your pieces were open-ended was because there was no cut and dried end to what you were talking about. Only change.

heres alot of buidings in town.
providence was briefly in the 1800 the US's mecca of textile mills, it was a maze of brick. the only way to describe how it looked is how baltimore looks now.

yeah, its kinda weak. i dont mean it to connotate toward black slavery. that was something that crossed my mind after posting
its more like everyone is a slave, and they enjoy it because its the only thing they know. it goes along with the concept that freedom, true freedom, is a rare thing cause people seek to be controlled.

Thats almost what I took it as. Although I thought it was a stab in the direction of employment and how people will enjoy their work but in the end its just them having the desire to be controlled and the fulfilment of considering themselves useful when all they are, are drones. And also when compared to the scheme of things their shitty litle work is nothing anyway. But I contest the distasteful look at that because I think life is about self fulfilment and enoyment [is that hedonisim?] and if you can achieve that in any way that isn't a sacrifice or is not inflicting damage on others then go ahead, no matter how trivial the occupation or whatever the fuck it is giving you the feeling of succession or accomplishment. Although I may have just interpretted it wrong.

That's sad. We've got a lot of those around here of various ages. One that a lot thought would be preserved fell through the cracks until it was in such bad shape nothing could save it. A lot of folks, myself included, thought it was being stored somewhere around the Dayton area to be reconstructed in a mueum. It turns out the society went belly-up and not many knew it. It never left the county. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/roge...Flying%20Saucer
It was cool as heck going there for 25 cents worth of gas in high school just cuz there was a cute guy that worked there.

a flying saucer gas station that rules, most the buildings here are being renovated at the expense of people like me getting kicked out. the building i live may be purchased soon by a maryland based developer, they got enough dough to rebuild baltimore, thing is yuppies dont wanna live there so that place is like the 9th layer of hell, 30 percent of it is condemned, beautiful mills tho
yeah, not all work is slavery, i think i wrote that when i was working shit jobs and it probably reflected my situation moreso and everybodys
