What chord/acoustic songs do you play?
After five years I've finally began learning chords, though it's proving quite difficult as I can't think of familiar songs to learn, so instead I'm stuck with a couple of chords and not enough enough experience to throw together things that sound remotely good. I've learnt a couple of bits from songs such as 'under the bridge' etc, but it isn't really my kind of thing.
I'm after learning strumming and chord changes, so if anyone can suggest any songs I'd appreciate it. It doesn't have to be metal, infact early catchy pop would probably be easier to learn...
Cheers for any help
EDIT: I did make a similar thread a few months back, but it didn't really get any answers and I can'#t find it. Also the 'learning' sites (such as cyberfret) don't really give suggestions, and as I said, I really don't know many artists that use chords well to pick out songs to fiddle with

Try the acoustic songs from Alice in Chains (mainly Jar of Flies/Sap albums) and Opeth (a lot of 'em are on Damnation).
If you just want to focus on chord changeovers, concentrate on the Alice in Chains stuff first.

Wish You Were Here, and Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd
Alberta, Alberta by Eric Clapton
Don't Follow and Nutshell by Alice in Chains
Mama Said by Metallica
Those are a few acoustic songs that I know that are basically chord strumming, and I personally like all of them a lot.

And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

Alice In Chains - Rooster is a really good song to learn, and I'm sure you've heard it before?

Two of my party favorites are American Pie (original, granted) and Good Riddance by Green Day. Just chords and strumming all the way, and though the picking part of Good Riddance is very simple, it's got that something.

why strumming? you should learn finger picking! way cooler.
That way you can play classical songs as intro's

screw learning the gay stuff. challege urself. go flamenco/classical/jazz.
check out something called Concierto De Aranjuez. and i know u'll be amazed and fall in love with the adagio from it.
wes montgomery or a guy named matt otten are probably the best jazz guitarists i've heard.
flamenco there's paco de lucia, juan martin and many more.
for classical there are alot.
probably the best guitarist i've heard has got to be Andres Segovia

Ahh cheers guys!
I've been fucking around with some stuff I've seen other people playing, such as under the bridge and 'california dreaming' etc... Then fiddling around and practicing chord changes. Flamenco would be killer to learn... Finger picking doesn't really appeal to me at the minute, I want to work on strumming to have a more flexible picking arm and hand mainly, also it gives a nice contrast and makes metal sound more brutal
I searched for most of the files and am fucking around with them, though after a few mins it all dissolves into mindless shredding over the classic songs
