I purchased a randall rg100sc 2x12 combo back in feb. and 2 weeks ago something blew...at first I thought it was the speakers...I had it cranked (clean)level on 5 master on 5 1/2 and all of a sudden the sound started to crackle and fade...(low volume) I took it back and had it repaired (still under warrenty) I guess the resistor? in the preamp? went or something...I don't know shit about the guts of an SS, anyways...I got the fucker back 2 days ago and everything seemed fine until today @ practice... it seemed alot louder than before...had the level on 4...and the master on 2!!! and it blew the drummer out
the fuckin' gate!? weird I thought...and before I knew it, the fucker died! no sound at all...the led's were still on and everything..but no sound. no visible fuse
in the back... no smoke...just went! if anybody knows anything..what/why/how

i dno dude, the cuircuitry could have literally just fried itself and died or maybe a loose connection.

i dont know much about ss amps but there could be hundreds of reasons why its broken, just get it properly checked out. get the engineers to open it up and look at all of it inside.

maybe it had something to do with running it with that cab. perhaps the ohms dont match up and something happened? i dont know if it would do that though.

man you might be right...the randall combo has an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm speaker outs....the crate cab is 8 ohm stereo? 16 ohm mono? I have it pluged into the 8 ohm jack... when I plug the it into the 4 ohm, it cuts the internal speakers off the combo (which I never need to do)... I am ohm retarded! I don't know if this helps. I'll have to post a diagram of the backs of cab and combo when I get a chance.
