If you knew what kind of bass he was using, then why did you bother to make a thread about. And he DOES use ab Eyb, this 'Valvier' thing you're talking about doesn't exist. PISS OFF.

What has Lord Worm to do with Necrophagist?
The player is named Stefan Fimmers. Myself, I cant and havent tried
lately to play any Necrophagist songs. The guitars have more role than
bass, thats why I prefer to play Atheist. I wouldnt go play Necrophagist, even with a lower tempo if you arent good enough, you may get frustrated like I
did when I tried a few songs about 10 months ago. So I decided to move on.

i decided a few months ago that my technique was strong enough to rock some necrophagist. i got a few bars into stabwound (right up to that little bass run), and thats as far as ive gotten. this shit is a killer to play, especially some of the two handed tapping parts. guess i need to spend a bit more time in the old woodshed first.

i would rather play cynic, atheist, or death over necrophagist, it is more bass focused. I think stefan is a good player but he doubles the guitarists too much for me to consider him a true "bass player" ( plus he plays a six string, come on too much guitar for him!!!!lol), if you want to learn tech bass go with those three i listed ( also try opeth or rush, it really helps with grooving in a metal environment)

Hmmm I just watched the live video for it (Fermented Offal Discharge) on http://metalmedia.proboards33.com/
You can't hear the bass very well, sometimes I couldn't hear it at all. That tapping part sounds wicked.
Does he do sweeps for these arpeggios? Are they the same thing as the guitar?
A cool song despite the poor recording quality because it is live.
Oh, and I don't have powertab on this computer, but I think I know why some people can't find the bass in powertab files. The bass clef is on a separate page from the treble clef, so if you want to see it, you need to press F3. That's just my guess why some people can't find the bass while other people are insisting that it should be there. If you can hear the bass when you press play, then there it is tabbed into the file.
I wouldn't want to try to learn that song yet, even if I cheated and did the easier thing for me: using fingers.
Edit: Fixed link.

im just saying the only time the bass shines through is when stefan plays arpegios or melodies, he doesnt write BASS lines, he copies what the guitar is doing, not that that is a bad thing its just not what im about when i play bass!

its tough to keep track of what the bass is doing in all the madness, but mr. fimmers does drop some solid lines. he makes excellent use of counterpoint and his bag of tricks ( rakes, harmonics, 2 handed taps, etc.) always keeps things interesting. cant wait to hear the new shit when it finally comes out.

not that martin mendez isnt a phenominal player, but theres very few lines in the new album that walk off of the roots of the chords at all.

you do all realise that the bass was already written on Onset Of Putrefaction for him before he joined the band right?

he doenst during melodies but he does during verse lines , just let me have my opinion. All i mean to say is i like sean malone or roger patterson a whole lot more than stefan mainly because they use the bass in more of a bass context. like i already stefan is good just not my style

no bassist EVER constantly goes in a different direction from the guitar except hardcore bands and every one of them is just doing retarded bullshit rabdom crap, or solos.

Unfortunatly yes, also, correct me if im wrong, but by the time the band members joined up after Onset, Muhammad had alot of material already made for Epitaph? Or atleast some?
Im sure some interviews would prove this right or wrong.

I belive he writes everthing, because you can hear the bass in every song if you listen closely and the bass sounds the same on both albums.
