Any Good Indonesian Metal?

Alright, I was really hunting through different exotic scales last night and found the Javanese scale and Balinese supposively Java comes from an Indonesian Island "Java" and Balinese comes from the Indonesian culture as well, but I'm sure there has to be some good underground scene over there as well because I know guitars are made there, even though they might be of shit quality.

So, just asking if anyone knows any bands thats use these scales a lot for and Indonesian death metal, thrash or any kinds of melodic metal. Basically I'm just looking for more musical infulences or if anyone on here has made any songs using these scales could you post a link or whatever?

Here's a couple riffs I done up using the Balinese scale so you can get a feel for again, tell if if any of you all have done any work with these scales?

Thanks guys,
Chad

You should check out Absolute Defiance

I think there Indonesian or Malaysian (not too sure about that side of the world) Don't expect any scales and shit in it though...it's just brutal death metal with a pretty tight drummer, it's got pretty snazzy blastbeats in it.

I'll have a look at my cd and find the distributer, whom I think are Russian...but they distribute quite alot of middle eastern metal.

You do realise Metal is generally banned in Indonesia, Malaysia etc... The crazy Muslim countries...

So no, there are not many bands cause there are not many people (in islamic countries) willing to go against Islam.

Yes actually, I know 3 bands from Iran... Arthimoth, SDS and Contalors. The only one of them I have heard is Arthimoth and it was a blackened death flavour. On YOutube you can check em all out. I've only seen covers by Contalors though.

Actually to the thread response:
I was once ages ago on the a.n.u.s forums and there was a discussion on Indonesian metal / metal in muslim countries. It is largely banned but there is an underground scene. Some Indo guy was saying that because these bands cannot play live etc, they are all progressing on their own and when they are exposed or whatever, they'll have a very unique sound and all. Maybe in the future we'll hopefully see some creative Indo metal.

It would be awesome to hear some Indo metal.

If you produce something underground in a country where its banned it often produces some very interesting results.

Nothing feeds creativity like oppression
