regurgitate vocals
Not sure if this should go in gear or vocals, but i hope this is the right place to ask this. Anybody know specifically (or generally) what sort of modulation or effects that Regurgitate uses on their vocals? Like do they use distortion or octaving or what...
thanks in advance

I think it's an octaver or something, because it's what LDOH uses. And when I saw Screaming Afterbirth I think that's what they had. It's some kind of foot pedal along those lines.

it's a pitch shifter.
i tried to use an octaver (cause it's cheaper^^) but it didn't work.
the vocalist of my band also uses one (boss ps-3) and it sounds good i think but it's not the same technique. ( www.myspace.com/anusbrigade )
you can hear what the people use when you just pitch it up with cubase or something like this.
rompeprop use 8 halfsteps or like this and just growl/shout.
grind on!

Not bad a band, I like the groovy thing you got going on, although I prefer and use real vocals, no effects.

Yeah, it is definitely a pitchshifter. Like LDoH, CBT, Rompeprop, GUT - etc. Extremely easy to do.

I think only a few bands that use a pitchshifter can pull it off tho sound good. Then again only a few singers can actually make it sound exactly like "fake" vocals, but having them unprocessed.
I've only met two people other than myself that can do it.

Does the Biolich vocalist use a pitchshifter in some parts? His voice gets unnaturally low.

It's hard to tell because it's not completely over the top.

GUT don't use a pitch shifter or any other effects.
And I think CBT use more than just a pitchshifter but i'm not shure.
I think it's stupid to say using vocal effects is bad or not as good as don't using them (wich means it's not true and sick and evil and brutal hahaha).
I love pitch shifted vocals

I'm just saying some bands "abuse" it's power and the band sounds like a shithouse.
Best use of pitchshifted vocals: Gronibard (for the high pitched)

One thing I wondered was how they got that gurgle bubble thing in along with their pitchshifter vocals. Like in Regurgitate it sounds like he's gargling. Is he combining a pitchshifter with another effect. I once used an octaver on my vocals and clicked the flange on by accident. Well the flange rate was going really fast and with the octiver it almost sounded like Regurgitate. So yeah any idea? What are the best brands for pitchshifter pedals?

I think Boss is very good cause my brother, rompeprop, the ex-vocalist of lengt'che etc use Boss pitch shifters but i don't know anything else
