loose knob

the volume knob on my schecter damien-6 is loosening. I tried searching the forum, but I couldn't find it. I admit that I am a noob when it comes to guitar repair, but thats beyond the point. Is their a way to tighten it without the aid of a paid tech? that would be preferable.
thank you for your time.

pull up on the knob (or loosen the screw if its a metal knob and then pull up). It should come off, there will be a nut holding the volume pot to the body. get a wrench and tighten it. push the volumene knob back on.

i dont know exactly what type are on this guitar but thats the standard way to fix a loose knob

I need some more assistance. thanks for the volume knob tip, I fixed that, but, just now, my trusty schecter seems to have a failed ground, as the only sound I can get out of it is a low but loud buzz. I can't find any electrical schematics and I need to know where the ground is situated as I am inexperianced with such matters.

solder the ground wire to something metal inside the cavity... like the bottom of a different pot

do you get guitar sound AND buzz or just buzz??

else you might have accidentaly loosened a wire while tightening the volume pot

I'm sorry but I absolutely feel I'm within my rights to laugh my tits off at that title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shit, all you can really do is sort out the wiring with high quality stuff, plus clean your amp jacks, they can cause a fair bit of noise!
