It's just occurred to me that my 18th is 7 days after 7/7/07.

Another recently experienced coincidence is when I was on the bus and was looking out the window, as you do, and had Catch 33 by Meshuggah in the earphones. Specifically track 8 'In Death - Is Life'. I noticed a kind of milestone-type thing with a '33' stamped on it beside the road. Whooo...
Part of Mehuggah naming the album Catch 33 was that they think there are 33's everywhere.

In response to the Catch 33 thing, yeah my friend has the same problem with the numbers 1 2 3 7 in a row, he mentioned he's always seeing them, and he points out when he does, wich is surprisingly often. 3 times this week he's casually looked at his watch when it was 12:37, and in math one day our homework was to do numbers 1,2,3 and 7.

its a day to celebrate slayer, one day out of the year that i can listen to slayer for 18-24 hours solid. i went for 18 hours with an hour break every 6 hours this past NDoS, and i dont wanna do that more than once a year.

I just went to the web site and saw the updates. Some of the stuff that some of those people did was just plain stupid. Like that idiot who carved the Slayer logo into his arm, what a dumbass.

I also disagree with the spray painting of Slaytanic symbolism on that Catholic seminary. Although I am not a very religious person and do not believe in God, I still think that you should respect other people's religion and beliefs just like you would expect them to respect yours. I mean, imagine if some Christian nut went and desecrated Dime's grave. That would be terrible, and there would be a huge outcry from the metal community.

While I do find the Yonkers incident to be pretty hillarious, (especially the news coverage), it's still very wrong and should not be repeated. This kind of shit, as well as the afore-mentioned self-mutilating idiot is what gives metalheads a bad name, and makes people hate us. And while I certainly do not long for love and acceptance of the general population, I don't want to be antagonized because of some stupid shit some dumbass pulled.

Fuck it, I say raise Hell every 6th of June. Grill out, take the day off work, drink, jam at ear bleeding levels, piss off hippies, invite people over for the party, get a tattoo, and put the name Slayer on everything you see. It isn't any worse than Halloween and a hundred years from now its not like you will be around to give a damn, but right now you can help establish something that will mark your being alive.

You can even sit at home posting and bitching about how lame you think NDoS is or you can enjoy the day with other metalheads. Unless you have something personal against Slayer, I don't really see an alternative.

Its truth, but the fact that Slayer is still a walking joke doesn't help. They are full of themselves, and they haven't done a decent thing in a friggin decade. That aside, there are literally a million jokes you can make out of Slayer.

I'll pay homage to the 1980s (and 'Seasons') by listening to Slayer at full blast, but if I'm going to celebrate metal, I'll listen to something else thank you.

As was mentioned, 'Slayer' rhymes with 'prayer.' It's a cute joke that, like any other, loses its funny when people start to take it seriously or suggest more logical representations of evil and anti-religion. Slayer are a hollow shell of their former glory? No shit, but how does that change the fact that they're the only classic metal band whose name rhymes with 'prayer'?

I guess Indian Scraw Boy didn't look at the play on words, and just looked at the "evil" part of why Slayer was the band who was doing it.
