Jason Mendonca
What I find impressive about Jason Mendonca's voice is that he appears a pretty simple guy, and dresses in a business suit to perform, and then belts out one of the most brutal-sounding voice's ever. I was shocked when I first heard it.
It kind of shows that everyone has the ability to do all sorts of metal voice if you really try to search for it. I'm not a screamer, but I've hit my scream a few times. Voice is not a nature thing, it's a nurture thing.
Just thought I'd say so.

Jason is a really nice guy and his talking voice doesn't sound like it would be him singing. But he is a great singer definately a best in my book.

His high pitch scream is unworldly.

I've actually come to realise that my own death growl is nearly identical to his. I also sit singing along to Leviathan. It feels quite rewarding.
If you ever my normal voice, you might say I don't the part neither, especially with my Scottish accent, then when you hear my band's random sessions, you are blown away.

Jason is the man. The Ak are, in my opinion, the best band in the world today...by miles and miles and miles...way better than any fucking generic gore shit just going "reee reee reeee" with that same cliche drum sound and gay riffs just raping the diminished scale.
ooh. where did that come from.
anyway yeah BIG UP LONDON! Akercocke fucking rule. hands down.

The Ak are fairly godly. I find them greatly influential when I'm writing. Like I said, they influenced my band's original name.
Mendonca's vocals are awesome, some of the best I've heard. A brutal growl, a piercing screech and nice, low resonant cleans. That song Son Of The Morning will tell you so. "Bear witness to my testimony..."
He was in Total Guitar magazine not so long ago representing extreme metal, saying "fuck BC Rich. Sit me with a Parker Fly any day!". "Good choice," I was saying to myself.
They are fairly brutal though, which I like. More brutal than what Florida and Poland are churning out. Songs like Enraptured By Evil. Makes me get an ecstatic twitch every time I hear that damn intro'! You know that little buzz you get when you hear something you really, really like.
