If it's a good venue, you could have a roland microcube miced up and youd still be heard over a drummer.

you shouldnt worry about the wattage with tubes really. if you want more add more speakers.

peavey 5150 combo would have plenty enough volume while playing with a whole band
just probably wouldnt sound as good as a 4x12

I have a Valveking; You will not need a Silver Dragon for that amp, trust me if you think it doesn't have enough distortion... Well you probably smoke crack. All you need is a small little fan to blow on the tubes as they sometimes get warm and volume decreases this is my personal experiences.

dude... if a 45 watt solid state can keep up with a drummer... than 65 watt tube will be more than hunky dory. anyways, for metal, do t3h peavey 5150 or 6505, whatever you can get your hands on. for anything else, marshal dsl or tsl combos, orange rockverb combos, or vox tube combos. Even a Peavey Jack Daniels signature would do you well. and remmeber, if they dont have enough gain, just boost it with whatever.
