This is dumb. Both make shitty and very good quality guitars. Jackson KV's and Soloists are great, but so are UV's and higher end RG's.

ive played a few jacksons which i liked, but i also own an ibanez. i like the ibanez just a little more because of some minor things like, its an AANJ joint not bolt on and that the sharktooth inlays go up until 24.

GOOD IBANEZ:
No RG lower than a RG1570 unless its a RG321MH as they have shitty trems ex...Edge II, Edge III, TRS. The RG1570 has an awesome RELIABLE Edge trem not made from shitty metal. The S470 has a decent trem too, but just doesn't have the pull-up capability as the RG1570 has so, doing crazy dive bombs might be more of a problem, though its cheeper than an RG1570 and comes in a mahogany body, so just food for thought.
GOOD JACKSON:
I'll tell you like this, Jackson makes great guitars, but none of the good ones UNLESS their hardtail/string-thur (ex. DKMGT, SLSMG) are really all that great. To get a really nice Jackson you'll need to spend about $1500 plus if you want a Original Floyd Tremolo.

So, bottom line is this, IF you need a tremolo go Ibanez MUCH better bang for buck and you can get an RG1570 for around $700. You might also be able to find a RG3120 which has a Edge trem as well but comes in a mahogany body for around $900 if your into really extreme metal and stuff and want a warmer sound.
If you want a hardtail/string-thur though then both offer some nice axes. If your tight on cash check out a Jackson DKMGT or SLSMG and for Ibanez check out a RG321MH or RGA121 and decide which fits your needs better, as all four are excellent guitars.

both make great guitars. i'm an RG whore as well.. i love the wizard necks on them. that's the main reason why i prefer ibanez in general.. my love for the RG series necks.
if you want a tremelo, though, you really should go for ibanez. the japanese versions have a GREAT trem (edge, edge pro, etc). everybody i know who hates trems and had a cheapo one that always went out of tune is blown away by the trem on my rg570. they can yank on the trem for 30 mins straight as much as they want, and it'll still be in tune when they're done. it's not terribly old yet (5 years), but even the ones from the 80s and 90s act the same way. most other companies don't make trems out of good metal like ibanez does. even the korean-made trems are nice.. although if you're going for an RG with a floyd bridge, i'd highly recommend going for the 570/1570 line. you can get one used in perfect condition for the same price as a new 370.. it's so worth it imo for the real edge/edge pro bridge and wizard neck. it's even less, actually. i had bought a 370dx for $425 including a HSC brand new from a local store. a month later i sold it because i found a 570 in mint condition for $305 shipping including a HSC on ebay. it was a no-brainer.
a buddy of mine is a big jackson fan. he wanted to try out my guitar but said he HATES floyd rose guitars because they always go out of tune. he said his old jackson had one and he had to sell it and get a jackson hard tail bridge. guess what happened.. he played mine for a few hours straight and was just blown away by the bridge. it was still in tune 3 hours later.. and he had been yanking on the trem down to full slack and raising it up several whole steps.
