Engl E530 at RSA... Euro voltage?
If you've seen my other thread called "Idea..." you'll know I'm moving to Spain and I'm selling lots of my gear to buy an amp over there, but I'm skeptical I'll find anything I like for a reasonable price as I'll be living on an island. So I thought of buying a PodXt here to take it with me but I just remembered Engl amps(I had originally planned to get an E530 this summer) are made in Germany... which makes me wonder, do the E530's at RSA have a switch of some sort to be used with European voltage(230V as opposed to 110-115V in the US)?
I could always use a voltage transformer for the E530 but I certainly don't want to risk fucking up such an expensive piece of equipment(I blew up a US Playstation in Spain not being careful with my voltage transformer). Chances are I'd be the only person in the Canary Isles with an E530.
I'll end up buying a cab over there and later on a poweramp(I don't need massive headroom at the moment).
So yeah, are the E530's at Rocksolidamps ready to be used with European voltage? Is it simple to convert it to 230V? I read the manual for it at RSA and in one of the pics of the back of the unit it said "Wired for 230V" but I saw no switch. Anyone know if Derek keeps any 230V units in stock?
Edit: By the way, just an interesting story: My there's a 99% chance that my brother(he's 30 now) was the first person to have Pearl Jam's first LP "Ten" in the Canary Isles, as he bought it in Madrid on the release date).

why dont you just buy one in europe? then sell it when you move back. the resale on engls is high as hell and the 530 is dirt cheap new.

Hah, like hell I'd find anything with the Engl logo in the Canary Islands, let alone at a reasonable price. Shipping to the isles is ridiculously expensive, and that also jacks up the prices a lot of whatever amps I can find over there, and Engl preamps most certainly won't be one of them unfortunately. There's like 2 or 3 instrument stores on the island, I've seen one and was not impressed. Poor selection of gear, and all of it was ridiculously overpriced.
I'm not moving back to the US. Besides who would want a European voltage E530 in the US? (Besides myself )
You can run the E530 with no dedicated PA, I hear that works fine unless you need massive headroom for live playing, but that won't happen anytime soon so I won't be buying a PA for a bit.

Why dont you get one after you move, using germany's ebay site? or some other european country's ebay website?

I think I already said that shipping to the isles is very expensive.

Soero, I think shipping to the isles would be the same as shipping to spain from here, am I not right?
Btw, I am not going to the canaries this summer, I'm going to Turkey, sorry no beer with you

Ahh.. a shame. Shipping to the isles costs more than to mainland Spain, I probably won't be buying your TubeToner. But hey maybe ask your local carrier how much it would cost to send it to the isles, the zip is 35000 I think, and I might reconsider.
I just became real skeptical about the PodXT. The samples really really aren't convincing me it's something I want to shell out 300$ for. So I think I might still get the E530 here and use it carefully with a transformer, and perhaps take it to an electrician so he can convert it? That's what I did when my PS blew up on me.
