Speaker question...
I just bought a 1400watt (700watt mono) Powered Mixer, and I'm wondering this. Since you can't run a head, in this case my Triple XXX, without connecting it to a load, can I run it through the PA direct from the 2 stereo outputs on the amp, since indirectly it is still connected to a load? Also, what is the line out on my amp for? Is it so I can run direct through PA/record direct?
Thanks

you should only use PAs for vocals and micing cabs. your xxx will sound like rotting bat's asshole through full range PA speakers.

Yes, or another poweramp or power mixer, and to the rest... are you asking if you can hook the stereo speaker outs from your head to the inputs of the power mixer? If so, don't you dare do it! There are major load issues to contend with in that situation. Something will surely melt into a slury of lava.

So the line out would be safe to use recording direct into my PC? I don't want to do damage to my poweramp/power transformer. Thanks

You might want to read your manual or ask Peavey, but I'm sure you can. The line out comes off the out put of the power amp, but has a knob that allows you to adjust the level. That or you need a DI box between the Line out to the PC. I've never used the one on my amp either lol.

It says the line out is a post-poweramp output, so does that mean I'm safe to record direct/plug into PA?
Thanks for all the help so far!

You know whats best to record guitar with? A Shure SM57 Mic placed right in front of the speaker. Using the line out isn't really that good from what I hear. Like I said, I have never used my line out either. Even live people will still use the Shure SM57 to mic the guitar speaker, so it can be used both for recording and live with flawless results. Plus, I know the mic can be pluged into the power mixer.
