Question Metronome

can someone explain to me what 4th, 8th, and 16th notes are and is there any othere ones that im missing. Also how are they played to the metronome, are 4th note sliek 4 notes per measure and so on?

quarter notes - 1 2 3 4
eigth notes - 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
sixteenth notes 1e&a2e&a3e&a4e&a

four each quarter notes, two eighth notes, or four sixteenth notes, and so on

The metronome plays quarter notes at a certain tempo (say 200). If you want to play sixteenth notes to this tempo, play four notes for every one beep of the metrnome, eighths two hits for each beep, and so on, within the same tempo.
