Misery Index are - as Alvaro correctly pointed out - a great band. My favourite song probably has to be Retaliate due to it possessing one of the best intros and one of the best outros in metal.

I got the discordia cd and it sucks.. The drums are too triggered.
I preferred their Overthrow EP, Retaliate, and Dissent. To me, those were real MI tunes. The new shit become cliche even more mainstream-ish crap.

i seen these dudes play a show in a small art space show a few years back along with the red chord and some local bands. the drummer is sick but he's a tapper, the band is great live tho.

Dull, i reckon. I heard that album (retaliate? i forget its name, it has the song about fear eating the soul and all that shit) and the songs were good to start with, but they just got repetitive i thought.
Ive only heard one song off the new album and it bored me. Ive tried to get in to them, I really have, but its just not happening.

they may not be the best band in the genre but for sure alot better than some fucking gay ass bands on Myspace.
I lately realised how stupid emo kids are.. Heres a little scene for u:

It took me awhile to get into MI because I thought they sounded too similar to Dying Fetus, but I pulled them apart eventually.

I know exactly how you feel man! I, for instance knew all about Suffocation, before Suffocation even released an album!! That was around 1989, so that would've made me about ten years old. Now, when I'm paying one of those little emo turds two dollars to wash my Bentley, a conversation like this is likely to take place:
ME: Hey dude, I just love the new Unearth CD. What do you think of it?
