Drop-A tuning problem
I just started tuning to Drop-A again to learn some more Nile stuff but i'm having a problem with tuning my second string (B in standard tuning) to F#. Can someone please tell me what fret I need to use with a tuner to tune it to F#? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't really understand the question. With a tuner, just hit it open.

if youve got your lowest string tuned, fret seventh fret on it to get the next pitch.

My tuner doesnt have F# on it. Its a crappy little Korg tuner. With all the other strings I can hit it open cos the tuning is A E A D F# B so with the exception of the A and F# I just just hit them open but with the A I hold down the 7th fret and then tune it to 6E but I cant find the fret to use to make the G an F#.

Well, with the 2nd string it would be 3rd string on the fourth fret. Our the 4th string on the ninth. So, if you've got the G already tuned down for drop-A, it's the fourth fret you use to get the F#.

What gauge of strings are you using, Nephren-ka, just out of interest?
And my Korg GA-30 has never let me down.
It even tunes seven strings no prob's, which was handy when I moved on to them. I get really aggro' changing strings and tuning. With one more, there's a 15.6% greater chance I'm gonna burst, isn't there? Not with that handy little tuner of mine.

Yeah just tune like to B like you would for Amon Amarth shit, then drop the low E an extra step. That's all there is to it.

well tune it to B standard. that being tuning the 6 string to be and tuning the rest like a regular guitar (5-0-5-0-5-0-4-0-5-0). the second string will be the f#. then just drop the B to the drop A.

If it's one of those tuners that only reads EADGBe, the first fret on the 2nd string should register as a G.
As Death CS said, the intervals are standard
