Favorite song on Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

I started listening to this album again starting last week, and it just impressess me over and over. It's not the innovativeness or the technicality that impresses me (as it isn't very technical), but the amazing songwriting that is going on here. Every song has a nearly perfect, if not perfect, beginning, middle and end, with great catchy soloing and bass fills all over the place. Maiden totally went a different direction with this release, and the whole concept album idea was fucking brilliant. Discuss Maiden.

I screwed up the friggin' poll and it wouldn't let me change it

Infinite Dreams hits me at the "Even though it's reached new heights I rather take the restless nights" part, it gives me chills and Dickenson's vocals just fucking kicks ass there. Goddamnit I don't even have a favorite song, I can't even choose.

Infinite Dreams. Steve Harris' lyrical mastery astounds me from time to time.

The Prophecy is my fav, and i still remember how to play seventh son after all these years. Yet id still say my fav album of theirs is number of the beast. Maiden wrote a lot of great songs(hallowed be thy name, rime of the ancient mariner, fear of the dark, phantom of the opera, aces high) the list goes on.

Not a real fav album of mine, I guess I'd moved on a little by the time this one came out and was branching out into hardcore, thrash and death metal but I can't ignore 'Moonchild' and a point must be made about 'Can I Play With Madness' video as it features Graham Chapman(RIP)

I may have to dig this out and give it another spin or two

He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy!

Yes the priest, though I think at the time he was pretty ill with cancer.
Please people feel free to quote the Life of Brian!

And just for fun, Mandrake Screams - 07-17-88 (Same one, Steve)

It is so fucking hard to get a 7th Son-era bootleg.

seventh son of a seventh son

I totally dig Infinite Dreams and The Evil that Men do; one of my favorite Iron Maiden albums. The video for Can I Play with Madness is really cool as well.

i really like The Clairvoyant, it reminds me of the movie Labyrinth. I just love that part on the song at 1:00, and again later, and the solo. And I, along with the many others, also love Infinite dreams. That part at 3:13 actually sounds like a more modern scream , i love that part.

id like it if this were a thread about all Maiden songs. im listening to Run to the hills right now, love it.
