Recomend me a external soundcard
Okay, for recording stuff on my laptop, I am in need for an external soundcard.
They things i'm looking for is:
Usb connectivity
ASIO compatible
Low latency
Abbility to play and record at different channels
I have no need for surround sound or other "consumer" things.
Anyone know a affordable soundcard that can do what I want? I used to have the Soundblaster Audigy, but it was pretty crap.

Get a firewire card and get the Alesis firewire mixer. comes in 6, 8 and 12 i believe.
Been told to get this setup by about a dozen people. And i believe it.

Don't be so sure about that. Right now i'm using one of those Emu cards but its ok... I mean i have put out decient recordings, but it doesn't even feature mic imputs.. Luckily it has optical in and my art preamp has optical out.
With the alesis board.. the 8 channel new is like 300 bucks. (i looked it up its 8, 12 and 16 channel boards.) With that 300 it has everything you will need for decient recordings. Including but not limited to built in effects, preamps, and what not. For that same price you would literally pay the same for less or pay more for less.
Why i still dont' have one of these remains a mystery. Probably because i still need to buy a new conden mic... arg.
Not to mention this mixer doubles as..... well a mixer. So you'll always have one.
