$1500 Guitar Range

I'm getting a new guitar for graduation, and I have a $1500 range of what to spend (my dad claims any more and you're really just paying for the name, rather than improved quality, he's played for 20-some years). I plan on trying some out before I decide what I want, but I was hoping for some suggestions so I know what to look for.

Thanks.

maybe a custom ran??

u pay less for more quality, i mean, u wont pay asmuch money for just the brands name, and youll get exactly what specifications you want. down side is you have to wait for some months.

thats all i can suggest to you, i got a custom guitar a while ago, costed me 1200 euros, and plays just as good as my 2750 euros jackson usa.

but im sure you'll get some more suggestions

Remember he would be paying a total of 500$ in shipping and customs for the RAN, and Ran's cost more than 1000 euros nowadays.

Obey MTM. Or try some other high end Jacksons or maybe a JEM.

Hell yeah,

If you like body styles with fins like a strat or RG, try some high end Ibanez RG models. They fucking rock.

Well, pretty much yeah.

But new, you can get a KV2 for around 1,000 USD, or any really good RG.

You could get a custom job from Carvin, but it would take 8 weeks from the time you order it to the time it arrives to your door.

I would totally get a high end Ibanez, like an rg3120 or something along those lines. I'm an rg freak, though.

Ibanez RG3120 - Mahogany body, 5pc maple walnut prestige neck, Edge Pro Bridge

Ibanez RGA321F - Mahogany body, 5pc maple walnut prestige neck, Giblaltar Plus bridge.

Depends just whether or not you want a trem or tune-o-matic. I've heard the Gilbaltar bridges are pure butter to play on and VERY comfy

Check this axe out -
