They use custom 8-string Ibanez.... Dino Cazares (ex Fear factory, Asesino, Brujeria) got one a while back too...

Meshuggah originally got their 8-strings from Nevborn, the Sleipner XL model.

They also have Ibanez 8-strings of a similar design.
Tuning?
Meshuggah used Bb on 7-strings, so they basically got it extended with a lower F, another perfect 4th down. Some may argue that you should get a higher string or a lower string a perfect 3rd down, so it reflects the higher strings of the guitar. The Sleipner I model by Nevborn features a higher string. |
