Boss GT6 problem!
Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be abel to help me with my Boss GT6. Just now i gig with a Marshall on clean and use my GT6 to get my distorted tone. Im looking to get a Peavey 5150 for the raw distortion tone but still want to use my GT6 for delay, reverb etc. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to bypass the tones the GT6 provides but still use the simpel effects on teh amps distortion?

that, or use the 4-cable method if you also want to use fx before your amps pre-amp. Only con is you can't use overdrive from the gt-6 that way.
Check out www.bossgtcentral.com or do a google on it.

Im running a 5150 combo and gt-8 using the 4-cable method. It sounds sweet.
I just use the gt for cleaning up the noise, EQ, and a bit of delay. And then I just plug headphones into it and I have any practie amp I need.

the od/distortion fx dont work on the gt6 with the 4-cable method. But I don't think you need them on a 5150

This is true.
To activate the loop function in the gt6(that allows the 4 cable method to work right) you need to turn the OD/DS to "custom". The gt8 has a seperate function for this.
Im currently running my friends gt8 through my 5150 combo using the 4 cable method and it really tightens up the sound. I sold my gt6 to buy the 5150, and in the next few weeks i hope to have my good ole' gt6 back
I like it over the gt8, but thats me.

Haha then why are you selling yours?
Haha fucking salesman.
Yes I do expect some lame excuse, and I know you'll deliver.
Fucking salesman.
And I remember comparing specs of the gt6 and gt8 and there was a feature that stood out on the gt8 that made it more worth purchasing. Fucked if I can remember what it was. And No, don't say; 'Ha! It must not be that important if you can't remember it!!!111 lolzzzm', because it is quite significant, I just cant remember it, since I wasn't planning on buying one, so in the most formal of conclusions,
Fucking salesman.

Probably the dual amp control thing that measures how hard you play and switches to different amps based on that.

i thought there was a dual amp thing with the '8 that let you combine two different amps in one at the same time

It allows you to have two different amps setup in the preamp section at once. They are setup as Channel A and Channel B. You switch them like switching amp channels, yet you can switch to entirely different amp models.
The thing is, the gt8 i use now isnt mine, and i had sold my '6 to get my 5150. Im fluent in how the gt6 is used, and the gt8 is setup differently in many aspects. I just know how to get any tone i want from the '6 thats why i love it

Well, I heard the mesa and 5150 pre-amps on the 8 were are bit more usable than on the 6
