7 String guitars

I'm thinking of getting an Ibanez RG7321 BK, and that seems to be the most reasonable model that can be found in Helsinki (the price is around 435€ what I asked) I also tried out an ESP, I think the model was m-207 or something..
Wasnt as good as the Ibanez.

I was also gonna bid on this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
but the seller closed it early.

So basically, what other suggestions do you have for me? I've been playing bass for over two years now, so I'm not an amateur either. And my price range varies from 300 to 500 € / $
And please, no ebay.com, I may bid if theres one @ ebay.de

Cheers Mate!

Look for an Ibanez RG7620. The min. you'll get it for used is 300$ or 400$. They have a Floyd, no pickguard, and many say it's better than the 1800$ Ibanez Universe 7. I want one soooo bad.

A Washburn WG587 is the cheapest and best built 7 string fixed bridge you can get for 200$.

I'm sure the craftmanship on the UV is way better, but since the 7620 has no pickguard routing, the body resonates more than a UV? I read that in some reviews.

I'd only buy a UV-7 if I had an assload of money to spare cause I'm a huge Trey Azagthoth and Vai fan, but otherwise I'd settle for a 7620. That green/black UV is far more elegant though.

Jemsite says that they made RG7620's during the years 1997-2000.
So that makes them a bit hard to buy around here.
Still, 7321 is the only one I can find here, I think I'll go for that.
By the way, is it hard to change pick ups? Or is it better to let a professional
change them?

Pickups are easy to change unless you put EMG 707s because you need to route the cavities to fit them

From what I've heard, Dimarzio's, some Seymor Duncan's and the EMG 81/85 combo are recommended choices. So it would be one of those.

I imported one from the US because I wanted a cheap 7.
It is very good value for money, but the pickups are pretty arse...
The pickups are the only problem.

Which are of course the easiest thing to change about a guitar me thinks.

Good choice epitaoh, Ibanez are the shit when it comes to 7 strings. I own a RG1527 prestige and love it. Your 7321 is made in Korea but still good for the price. Have fucking fun.

Actually the tuners or other hardware is easier to replace I think, no soldering involved.

The 7421 or 7321 are probably kick ass guitars, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice having a Floyd on a 7 string, I'd just wait til you can nab off ebay or a local classified ad as I'm doin.

7620's seem to come up on Ebay fairly regularly.

Yeah. I want one in white color, that is if they even come in that color. Anyone know?

There's an even greater amount of UV-7's on ebay too. I think there's 7 or 8 on ebay right now? I think people sell em cause they're a bit overpriced...

Man powers, we're having your work cut out for you

So what do you guys think ...

Stephen Carpenter 7-string 25 1/2 scale ? 900$

Or Ibanez Prestige 1527 7-string? 900$

Or a much cheaper Ibanez 7620? 4-500$

The 7620 I'd say...they sound and play pretty damn good. The Carpenter prolly sounds really good with the 81-7's, but the pickups are so damn close together(I'd be picking the neck pickup and that fucks my playing up badly, thats just me though). I've heard pretty good things about that prestige model too, but yeah I'd still say go with the 7620. Don't know if you've seen these guitars, but check out www.ricojrguitars.com they make some really cool custom 6 and 7 strings.

Don't think so, the 7620 came mostly in black, but there were some ltd. ed. colours, Vampires Kiss (a dark metallic red) and maybe a Royal blue. Ibanez made some colours that were only available in the larger US chain stores. Jemsite will confirm it though.

John, The RG1527 is a much better bet than the 7640... The stock Ibanez pickups beat the blaze pickups. Blaze 7's suck. Quick replacement of the pups on your 1527 and you will have a custom made quality guitar. When I played it I couldnt believe how good the Wizard II neck felt. The LO Pro Edge tremolo bridge is an ass to change tuning, but other than that it is so fucking good. so low- as the name suggests!.. mmm nice Graphite nut... Great high quality inlays (non- plastic looking). You are assured manufacturing quality, my guitar came with a card with the signatures of 6 individuals who inspected my guitar. It is made by Team J craft. I assume the same team makes custom guitars, for the quality is at an unbelievable level.

Seriously, everything about this guitar is great, and with a pickup change (mainly just bridge pup), you have yourself a motherfucking killer. The stock pups aren't that bad though... Im not changing for a while... I mean theyre nice, and the cleans are fucking beautiful.

I don't need money, love, or sex because I own an RG1527.
