So Much Going On
" So Much Going On "
So much going on that it takes my breath away
Too many hands reaching out for an anchor
Can't they understand that it's not me
Do they see something not apparent
Buzzwords and new things forced in the crosshairs
Skills I'm wrecklessly underinsured to attempt
But there's no choice in the matters at hand
I have to save myself
An hour for this, two for that
Now they overlap and overcome each other
Monsters in motion from where once tranquil moments appearred
No use in pretending that it's not all on me
Balk turning to bracing as I prepare to dive
Remembering the words echoing in my ears and seen by my eyes
I'm as human as I can be
If I start to drown I just hope someone hears me

The wheels of our society and the people inhabiting it is going faster and faster with every passing year. One of these decades they're going to come flying like a badly aimed air strike all over the place.
Good work capturing feeling, again; I'll come back tonight to rip apart structure and suchlike.

It still amazes me when i write something like this that I'm not sure would make sense to anyone but me and I get some positive remarks for it. Thanks for the comments and I'll look forward to it being dissected if you do. Break out the chainsaw.

Good riveting lyrics. I may be wrong from how you interperted your lyrics. I interperted as, we are in an information age and are becoming overloaded with information. All we care is for competing so we may be more successful than our peers. It transforms us to unsensitive people.
My opinion is that everybody is different and there is no need for envy. Nobody can be good in everything.

The verses are technically incoherent. The word "appeared" - in addition to being spelt wrong - seems to fall out of the word melody.

This is B O R I N G; I told you once.
So tell me, does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be done about the problem that the poem above define?

I can see your reasoning, but I was going for smaller scale. Just one person overwhelmed by events. I really like your ideas though. I think it shows a hidden versitality I hadn't seen at the time.
On a personal scale sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the needs of those around me and I don't feel qualified to advise especially on legal issues. I'm the only one that can do anything about it since I'm the only child. My multitasking tends to overlap and now I've got additional brainwork to do. I'm more a hands on person than a thinker.
The answer to the dilemma is in the line "Balk turning to bracing as I prepare to dive." First stubbornly fighting against what I have to do then changing that to bracing before diving in. It's also a refelction back to a piece I did about blissfully falling over a cliff in a red dress into a new adventure. Not in a bad way, but more a swan dive into the unknown less fearfully.

Hm, so the problem would be that people don't dare to do what they want or even what they need to? The thought as such is not bad, neither is your answer, but try telling someone in aforesaid situation.
"Look, all you need is to grab a hold on things, run them instead of letting them run you..."
See?

Pretty much that's it. I doubt my own capabilities sometimes and rather than just jumping into it I procrastinate even though I'll eventually do if there's no getting around it. Part of that is fear of failure, too. That's a hard thing to overcome. Being a grown-up sucks sometimes.
