ancient tube power amp/stereo
my dad has an acient tube power amp from like the 60's-70's. it has a burnt tube. but the only problem is that the tubes dont look like any tubes i've ever seen. ill get some pics up but i need help finding which is the tube.
its a kenwood KVA-503.
i wanna fix it with out going to a repair shop, cuz their charging $180. waste of money

its been raining non-stop lately, so i havent grabbed the stereo cuz its in my shed right now. due to the bottom of it being rusty. i highly dought its valves.

not a single tube in that amp... in order for it to be a tube amp it needs to have tubes.

What you think are the tubes in there (the two black cylindrical components on the right), are in fact capacitors to filter the power supply. And that weird copper tube with the little fins coming off of it is a heatsink, also to do with the power supply- its attatched to the voltage regulators. I'd suggest checking the main fuse if you haven't already, then see if there are any other fuses in the power supply section. Then as *insert name* said, check for any burnt out components (hint, if you take the PCB's out and have a look on the underside, any burnt out components will be easier to spot where the solder has changed structure due to the overheating)

c'mon guys those could be sorta mistaken for preamp tubes with covers.
but it really looks like its in pretty good shape, pretty clean.
anyways...its good to talk to yall again.
anyone ever heard of "the fall of troy"? its not metal and it may even be mistaken for emo but its pretty cool. actually i really freakin love it. the guy cant sing all that well, but his screams are pretty cool.
