I dont think you should base your decision of buying a powerball off the cab you have. It should sound fine, its a powerball. If you dont like it then get a new cab....

well the powerball rocks, and you already have the cab, so get the powerball and sell the cab for another one if you don't like the sound.

It's pretty hard to make a powerball sound bad

I've been stuck with an AVT cab for a while, they are pretty crap but definetly get the powerball, then worry about replacing cab with something better

Yeah ... do NOT let the AVT affect your decision on how the Powerball sounds. Trust me, if there's anything you don't like about your sound using those two, then its the cab. Trust us all on this one.
But of course you need some speakers for the head, so just use it now. Later on you can get a Marshall 1960 for about 3-400$ on E-bay, and something like that is what you need.

A TSL will do just fine. I'd rather have the 'ball, but there's nothing wrong with a Nile/Behemoth tone.

Having played both the TSL and DSL heads, I'd rather get a DSL100

Personally, I'd hook the Powerball with a larger cab to emphasise it's nice bottom end. The AVT cab is slightly smaller than say, a standard 1960 cab. You get a better sound spread with a bigger cab too.
