Jason Becker effects question

I'm currently learning Mabel's Fatal Fable by Jason Becker and I have no idea what effect he is using in the outro solo and in the intro. It sounds very cool, but I have no idea what it is. PLease help me out here, I can play most of the song but it doesn't sounds as cool without that crazy effect he's using.
