OFR into a licensed FR guitar...

I need to know... I'm going to replace my licensed trem with an OFR. I'm replacing the pivot screws, main unit and springs as well(not the nut, can't be bothered, plus it's fine). Will the pivot screws from an OFR fit the shaft from my licensed floyd? Or will I have to remove the shaft too? Is this a pain in the ass? I figure it might require some redrilling. I hope not, I just want to swap the parts with no hassle. The OFR pivot screws and licensed FR pivot screws are all the same size, it's a standard right?

unless you have a special licensed one that doesnt look like a copy of an OFR, then fitting it in there might be a problem other wise it should all be pretty easy to do.

Well the licensed trem on my Ironbird looks almost identical to the OFR I had on my DXMG, save for the finish(cosmo black or something). The pivot screws... I never raised them a lot on my DXMG to look at the grooves in it. That's what I'm worried about, if the screws will go down licensed trem's shafts. Using the ones I have would be easier but licensed trem pivot screws aren't made from real good quality metal, so they wear quickly(and cause tuning problems).

Are pivot screw shafts held inside the guitar's body by a screw of some sort? Or are they just jammed into the wood? If OFR pivot screws don't fit into licensed trem shafts, I hope replacing the shafts is not a big deal...

if your not sure, seek a music shop nearby...they should be able to do it for you for a cheap price if you already bought the OFR Trem. And most will even let you watch them as they do it so you can learn for future references!!!
