That's Who He is to Me
I could have sworn I posted this, but Amadeus said he couldn't find it and neither could I. I've got music written to this piece and a friend of mine is helping me write a piano type score to it so i can give it to the minister. It was inspired by a sermon a couple weeks ago at church and I came home and wrote it right away. It all fell into place almost immediately. I recorded it with sound recorder, but it's very hissy.
"That's Who He is to Me"
He's the friend I always count on
To listen to my dreams
He's the one I tell my troubles to
He's the one who's always with me
When there's not a friend around
That's who He is to me
He's a rock that I have clung to
In the midst of storms through life
Through many years of ups and downs
He's been there
Though sometimes my eyes were blinded
He'd guide me unawares
To morning daylight where I was renewed
He's listened to my laughter
And smiled along with me
He's been with me in peacefulness, too
He's shared a tear and held me
When I needed strength and care
That's who He is to me
He's my friend, constant companion
The one who guides me when I stray
That's who He is to me
Yes, He is,
That's who He is to me

Stop stuttering man, you'll get the splotches all over your screen.
Anyway, yes, it might seem a bit precarious to post a seemingly very religious lyric on a metal forum. At least if you're looking for serious comment.
Sidestepping that, I do get the feeling that this has been done before. Deeply emotional and personal I doubt not, but let me put it like this: You have made far more original and thoughtprovoking pieces before.

No, let's not. I'm taking it to mean it's beyond him not liking it by his reference.

You seem to know an awful lot about faggotry and gayness. Hmm....
I never thought this innocent little piece would create such a hubbub. You know, I just reread it and if I hadn't capitalized "He" it could be about a close relationship with a person or a dog even. I was writing it from my personal Christian experience, but it could be that way, too.

Well, isn't this lovely. Expect not to see many of your posts in this thread in a few minutes. Sorry to those of you whose posts were deleted because they responded to something I needed to perform my operation on.
As said in the forum rules sticky, if you can't offer constructive criticism, keep the hell out of my forum. You don't have to pretend to like anything and you don't have to refrain from commenting on something you don't like, but if all you can say is 'It's Christian, therefore gay,' you'd be better off saying nothing.
