Bridge and String Action
I'm a bit concerned as to whether or not I have my bridge set up properly. It only makes since to have the bridge as flush or close to flush to the body as possible to prevent any future damage such as neck warping.
I'm curious to know if this looks decent. Currently, I'm running 9 gauge strings and I have it set to standard tuning. I'm begining to slowly practice sweep picking and alternate picking and it seems that having a faster action where the strings are closer to the body helps out tremendously.
So, basically I just want to know if I'm on track or not, because I understand having the guitar set up properly will only further my playing ability.
Here are a few pictures I've included for your viewing pleasure:

looks prety good..if I doesn't buzz or anything keep it what way! You could loosen the springs in the back a little to make it totally flush though...

Yeah, the bridge looks pretty low but as long as the stings arent buzzing its probably fine.

It looks a bit too low. But as long as it doesn't buzz it should be fine.

Looks pretty much perfect, well done. It can be a real asshole to set up trems, i know
Also, how do the .9's feel on your axe? I have an RG570 with the same kinda bridge, but use .10's, it always seems quite tight for bends. Is that why you use .9?

I'd say it's dipping back a tiny tiny bit, but it's a lot better than many I've seen.
In terms of action, I think the guy who does my setups does the string height at the 12th fret about 1.6 or 1.8 mm on the bass side, and 1.2mm on the treble side.
Don't quote me on that though.

Trem angle looks pretty close, but it looks pretty good. It does look low, though. But if it plays good, then that's all that counts.
It's funny. When some of my guitars have been sitting for a while, the trem angle goes negative, and a slight tune up brings it right back to where it needs to be.
I would recommend in the near future to try to set it up with different gauges and different tunings so that you can get used to adjusting the trem, truss rod, etc. Practice makes perfect, not only with playing, but with maintanence as well.
Another rewarding aspect of guitar set-up is intonation. It is a lot easier than you think, especially with the right tools, and it will really make the guitar more pleasing to play.
Good job!

Good stuff guys, I appreciate you all taking time to look and put in some helpful advice. I was getting a little bit of fret buzz so I raised it up from the back just a little bit, its now probably 1mm atop the body but, I think it works out pretty well now.

Well, I used to play a lot in D tuning, and 10s seemed to work well for that. Though when I switched to standard to start playing some power metal stuff I found that the 10s we're a bit too tight for bends as you mentioned and found that the 9s work the best for me.
Again thanks for the help guys!

as long as it doesn't buzz terribly, it's all good. i can't remember what the strem would look like on that (on my 570, it's a bit different - the top isn't supposed to be flush w/the body). you may find that before long you'll want to increase the action slightly. i found it more desirable for bends/vibrato. also, i prefer 9's on my 570 for bending purposes as well. 10s on a fixed bridge, 9s on a floyd imo.
