Like wtf? Erik Rutan didn't play on the Absence's record, did he do the mixing on this one? I wonder if he's getting payed any royalties or something, it's being sold as a "Rutan pack". Might as well throw in the new In Battle CD and a couple of Morbid Angel records in that as well.
I just realized it was ME who submitted The Absence to metal-archives, like almost 2 fuckin years ago before they had an album.  Then I totally forgot about them. Hey ihave27frets, you owe me some royalties.

Cause people have no respect for musicians. I buy the CD's that I like from bands that I like. I buy underground shit to show my support. Ie: I'll buy a Morbid Angel or a Wormed album even though I have it on mp3, and I've got a fuckload of downloaded CD's, but not all are worth buying. Just my way of saying "thank you" to the band, plus it's cool to collect CD's and get them autographed. Still got a fuckload of shit I want to buy though, but bit by bit.
I found out it was indeed produced by Rutan, cool. He's not as good as a producer as he proclaims to be though. I remember reading a review of some album he produced, and the guy said Rutan takes a dump on the soundboard and licks it up while the musicians are recording the tracks, which explains his stained teeth.

ii buy cd's, i just dont think that should stop me from listening to the music before i do. i almost always end up buying the albums i download, if they are worth it. i might pick this cd set up, if the hate eternal is any good.

Exactly. I don't want to blow 10$ or more on something I have no idea how it sounds. And 2 or 3 song downloads are usually not enough to tell if I like it or not.

What other well known bands has Rutan mixed for? I know he's doing the new CC record, did the new one from In Battle, and obviously did the mixing for his own bands Hate Eternal and Alas. Not that I think he's Scott Burns or anything, but just curious to know who he's worked with.
Btw, Scott burns is working on the new Deicide album. I suspect it will kick ass, especially now that they have Ralph Santolla from Death and Jack motherfucking Owens on guitars.
