Which mic?

So I'm starting to get serious about my band and so I've been recording shit on my computer. The thing is, I need to acutally buy a real instrument mic. I've heard countless times that the SHure sm57 is probably the best, but I'm looking to see any others that could do almost the same, if not as good as that mic, but at a lesser cost.

Not to be rude or anal about your private economy, but seroiusly, an sm57 doesn't cost jack shit second hand, it's well worth it and you will get your money back when you sell it

the sm57 isnt really "the best" but it's more like somewhat of a standard because it's really good and pretty cheap new or used. guitar amp mic of choice for most venues.

Yep... 57 is cheap, good, and sturdy. Get one, if its to much save up.
