Fitting a humbucker into a singlecoil space
Hey guys im kinda new to this forum and ive searched for information everywhere, but cant find anything so i thought it wuld be best to ask here.
Ive recently been offered a Dimarzio Air Norton for £20 (i dnt kno how that relates to dollars mbe $30ish?) and this sounds like a good deal to me, but the problem i have is that the guitar this pickup will go into, a Yamaha Pacifica 112, has a single coil fitted to the guitar from stock so i was just wondering if any one knows the best way to fit the Air Norton in?
Thanks in advance

You just saw the humbucker in half, then it should fit.

Well you should be able to just cut out the space in the pickguard but if the pickup route is to small you could take it to a luthier and ask him to fit the pickup for you.

You could just buy a new pickguard, and if the cavity is too small, saw a bit of wood off.

take it to a professional luthier/guitar tech. unless you're qualified to do the work yourself, DIY guitar modifications are usually a very bad idea.

Routing out some extra space isn't that hard. Hell, I routed out a cavity for a ofr in an explorer once.

Looks alright for DIY. I'd definately see if you could get a new pickgaurd somewhere down the line.
