Another 'Pedal for me' question
Ok, so I would want a few effects to put in the finishing touches to some of my songs.
Anyone have and Behringer pedals? Basically I know Behringer makes low quality products and all, but would the effects be devastating?
In particular Im looking at the ULTRA OCTAVER, over here in Aus for only $40. In fact most of their pedals are $40 , except for the VAMP, V-Tones and VINTAGE effects. So yeah, if I bought say, 2 or 3 pedals, including the cocktave pedal, would it be worth teh money?
Or would the pedal drastically effect my sound?
I know im being a bit of a tightwad, but who has the money to go out and buy $200 effects?
Or maybe an multi-fx pedal is more what im looking for?
Anyway, who here owns any Behringer effects .. for $40 anything is good right?
B.t.w, I would be using em into my Peavey Bandit

Are you realy going to drop $200 for crappy behringer effects?
For that money, you can easily find a boss gt-6 on ebay.

Get a GT-8. I got one a while back and I've been thoroughly impressed with it. Thata way you get all of the effects and you get the amp modelling. Its a much better value than getting some pedals that you're going to just disregard. Even if you get the GT-8 and hate the effects and rarely use them you will still have amp modelling, dual amp modelling, noise surpresser, compresser...etc.

me-50 is cheaper, but just a few fx and distortion. the gt got it all: amp & cab modeling, distortion, eq, and more fx than you'll ever use

What exactly are you after effects wise?Do you need distortion/overdrive,reverbs and delays,or modulation, ect.Different units are better for different things.

I dunno, a whole range. Just to put finishing touches to songs ...
Do the Boss pedals come with a harmonizer? I checked the site and doesn't tell me.
The Gt-6 looks much better for me, price wise.
At the moment all I have is a Crybaby 535Q which I don't use because is fucks up my sound so bad, or if i mod it to get new sound I lose the wah effect.
So im looking mainly for a octave pedal for bass fills, but now im thinking this Boss multi effects is much better for me. Gt8 is too expensive right now, gt6 is bah decent price range but ill need to work for it.
Hmm is there an EQ on it and if so, any good.
I know nothing about muti effects pedals.. but if I chose a 'metal' type distortion and tweaked it to my liking could I have mainly my amps distortion and the 2nd layer of pedal distortion on to a lesser extent?
Or is it that you just switch between the two.
Also yeah just to fuck around with heaps of different shit expand my musical vocabulary and have fun... hmm so gt 6 for me? Are they discontinued now?

for the gt6 and 8, there is a wiring method called the 4-wire, where you can use an amps distortion (provided it has an fx loop) and the gt's fx in front and after the amps preamp. The thing with the gt-6 is that you can't use the gt's overdrive/distortion and your amp's distortion at the same time, but that has been solved with the 8.

Actually I'm deciding on going with a Behringer EQ. For only $40 AU
I read many reviews, and all give praise. Ill be careful cause downside is construction.
Considered the Danelectro, theyre basically the same. But behringer looks more solid.
My question is: Since my RG1527 is coming in a week; the tone is great. Do I really need this thing? Will it add to my tone, or will it take away?
Im gonna be using it into a Peavey Bandit, my thoughts are it will add to tone..
Your thoughts?

You can't really go wrong having an EQ pedal in your rig. It will help you fine-tune a good axe+amp to an ever better extent as long as you don't go overboard.

Half of you are illiterate.

Thats my advice.

meh yeah, sorry, but I just type my thoughts. I can't be bothered typing proper english sentences, so yeah, half of me are illiterate.
Digitech RP7 ey? Hmm ill look at some reviews.
EDIT: It's only massively out of my price range.
EDIT 2: Actually they're quite cheap on ebay. Ill wait until an Australian auction pops up and Ill probably purchase one. Thanks. I only saw new prices before I checked ebay. Reviews say not the best quality pedal, but for $100 can't be beat. Thanks man.
EDIT 3: Actually I dunno, does it come with an octave pedal? And Im reading that there is a delay when you switch effects.. not good. I definantly need an octave pedal this year... So I dunno...

Damn, there's a gt 6 on ebay $320 AU _ 20 shipping. If I had money i'd buy it. But then again... In a few months theyll be cheaper right?
Ok question... Is it worth forking out $200AU more for a gt8?
Everything goes out of date but still.. .

depends on what you want and need. You won't have to sacrifice the od/distortion if you use the 4-cable method, you won't have to sacrifice the fx-1 bank if you use the compressor, it is a seperate effect now. And I heard the rectifier pre-amp sounded better. But the last thing is don't realy know about.
