Are these hard to come by?
Are old Ibanez S series 7 strings hard to come by? Like I was looking at the Ibanez S7420. Here is a pic http://www.vincelupone.com/gear/vlupones7.jpg
Seems like a really nice guitar but I know they don't make them anymore. So I was wondering what are your thoughts on this guitar and how hard do you think it would be in obtaining one?

i dont keep up in ibanez, but arnt those fairly recent models? if so then you shouldnt have too hard a time compared to if they were stopped in the 80's or something

Unless something's changed since I last checked, the Korn models are based on the Ibanez RG series, not the S...
CasketCrusher: in a word, ebay. Posting a "want to buy" ad in the buy/sell forums at Jemsite.com may also yield some results.

I checked the site and the model he's talking about is no longer in production (well, it's not listed, so that's the conclusion I drew). But the Korn models are still there (why, I have no clue). But no, they're a little different.

Yeah I think the guy from Unearth has a S series 7 string in the Ibanez catalogue. I don't know if any of you have seen the photos from NAMM on the Jemsite, but he now has one hell of a tasty trans red RG archtop with EMGs. Now that is my wacking off material...

yo
those are pretty rare, i would definately buy one if i had the chance.
they dont make many S series 7 string guitars, most of their 7 strings are based on the RG shape
if you dont like it, im pretty sure you could sell it for more!
btw, remember that getting an ibanez 7 string guitar is a great idea as they were pioneers and amongst the first to successfully create 7 string electric guitars! the transition between 6 and 7 strings are less of a hassel with ibanez

I dont think ive ever played an s series 7, played alot of rg sorts though. I know s series 6 strings (atleast not the cheapo ones) are nice as fuck feeling, I imagine a 7 version would be tight as fuck

A few years ago I was going to buy this, until I realised the S7 only had 22 frets and the RG had 24. So I went with the RG.

I was all about 24 frets untill I bought my 7-string Rhoads wich obviously only has 22-frets, and then I decided it's really not a big deal unless you're playing complete whack off solos... I love my Rhoades...
