EMG 81 pickups

I have a Jackson - PS4 guitar with some crapy Korean pickups and I want EMG 81 on it. I have no idea how to install it and what do i need for that since I've never done anything like it. I never used an "active" pickup so I don't know how that battery thing works. If anyone can help ple_ase.
Thanx......

don't those things come with those instructions? if you can't follow 'em, have a guitar shop put 'em in for you.

Unless you have an expensive amp, forget about it.

you will not be able to use your stock pickups with an EMG. i had a PS-4 also, put a 85 in the neck and an 81 in the bridge and left the single coil slot empty and it sounded great. unless your familiar with DC electronics, you'll probably find installation a real pain in the ass. i still do and have been wiring my shit for years. pickups do come with instructions. 30 bucks to have a tech do it.

I got a PS-4 to and I put an 85 in the bridge. It wasn't hard. I put the battery in the electronics place. The thing wrong with the PS-4 is also the bridge is made of copper, & it dosen't sustain as well as steel.

YO !!!!!

Yo guys, if you don't want the hassle of installing EMG's then drop in a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker. Wicked distortion, sweet sustain, and the pinch harmonics kick ass.

You can use an active with a passive, but it will require some extensive wiring that I can tell you are in no league for. You would either have to get an impedance (sp?) slector or wire up seperate volume andtone controls for the two pickups.
