I'd imagine it would fit, it's the same size as a normal p'up right? You'll just have to find a little room for the circuit board etc...

What I underatand itīs the size of a singel coil, should be put in neck position. The hard part is to get the battery, switch and the chip (or what ever itīs called) into the guitar. Might be some routing here... I think the best is to leave it to someone who really knows what heīs doing. I would NOT do this myself.

Seems the neck p'up "driver" for the sustainer is a single coil and comes also with a "custom" fernandes bridge p'up.

Quote:
How the Fernandes Sustainer works:
The patented Fernandes Sustainer is powered by a 9-volt alkaline battery, and works with the Driver in the neck position, the Bridge pickup, and the Sustainer circuitry to give you infinite sustain. The driver sends magnetic pulses to the strings, which makes them vibrate. (The driver also functions as a great sounding neck pickup when the Fernandes Sustainer is switched off.)

Standard Mode: In the Standard mode, the Fernandes Sustainer will hold any note you play.

Harmonic Mode: In the Harmonic mode the Fernandes Sustainer creates string vibration similar to that when you’re getting feedback at extreme volume, generating the 5th harmonic of the note being played.

Mix Mode (FSK-401 only): The Mix mode is a blend of Standard and Harmonic sustain.

I'd just be worried as to wether if you used a different bridge p'up that it would affect your sound (If you can use a different p'up at all).

went to my local guitar shop

(colbecks)

and asked about the sustainer
and its gonna cost Ģ130-Ģ140 excluding labour
i was told that the pots on my perticular model are further away
than on any other ibanez jem rg etc..not cuz mines a one off or anything just this model ibanez rg 350 ex if anyone knows if this is true plz reply
he said that the pots may need to be moved for the 2 selecta switches to fit
no for definate but he said im better off bringing the guiar in for him to check it out properly so i hope its just the price of the sustainer + labour to fit it
