the ns-2 is great.... the decimators are cool, but imo the pro rack G version is worth the hype because it does pre and post preamp gating(getting rid of feedback AND operation noise) and the way it does such is very unique and effective. but the gate itself is nothing superior than the ns-2, and it's super transparent.
hush's arent good if you care about your sound. because they cut and filter alot of freqs that cause feedback and noise, which will kinda dull your tone down a bit.
i have an isp decimator pro rack G and i love it, and use it in the main rig with the rack. but i also have an ns-2 and for when i dont feel like carrying around my little 6 space rack, throwing the ns-2 into the guitar case is so convenient, and it is very sufficient to reduce feedback.

Hasn't the NS-2 got two inputs / outputs aswell to have preamp gating aswell? Shared knob setups however..

the ns-2 has it's own little fx loop... so basically all your pedals that go pre preamp, you just put in the ns-2's loop thing. then your guitar goes into the input and then a cord from the output into the amp.
never had any success running it like that though.

why? whats wrong? i've been runnnig that for years,
never touhed an isp whatever, but i know that the behringer is fucking brilliant for vocals.
dunno if it would affect the guitar in a bad way(tone loss etc), but you could use it as an incredibly powerfull eq
and, uh its not a gate as such, it searches out feedback frequencies and eq's them away.

Ive tried both ways and they sounded exactly the same to me but using all the pedals just directly into the input without using the effects loop uses less cords so thats how i run it now.

Boss NS2, cause you can get it used for dirt cheap, it's portable, and has just as good noise reduction capabilities as any other. Got mine for 60$, and I've seen people get it for 40$.

if you have the money go for the decimator pro rack G, but if you want a great affordable one. go ns-2.

decimator pro rack G costs 400 bucks list price
rocktron super hush c 200
and boss ns2 prolly around 100
of course you can get them cheaper used or on discount but those are the list prices. i think the hush c is the best alternative to the decimator pro if not even better.

Go for the NS2. Its cheap and if you have other boss pedals and an adaptor it acts as a power router to your other pedals with a special cord. and its cheap.

+1.
Or if you're a super cheap bastard, get a Behringer NR100 and glue it do the side of your amp, cause you sure as fuck don't wanna step on that.

i have the super C the decimator pro rack G and the ns 2... the super c is definately my least favorite. i'd rather use the ns-2... you can alway use some 3m dual velcro lock and put it in the back of your rack case.
