What do you all think of the so-called "Spazz" bands (The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Daughters, etc.) that have gotten popular lately?

I personally think it's a retarded thing to call them Spazz. But, Daughters is awesome. The rest.......they're OK.

Spazz is a band. Those two bands you listed are just grind. You could divide grind into a million different sub-genres but it is best not to.

Number Twelve I wouldn't consider grind. Daughters, yeah, probably.

I dunno, I've seen people on other forums posting calling them "Spazz" and I'm kinda like, WTF, you know? I personally, as stated, think it's stupid, and wouldn't consider it a genre.

Spazz were a hardcore powerviolence band. The song Cool Guy is pretty awesome I think.

I havn't checked out the bands Daughters and the other one yet but they are like anything like The Locust? Or Dillinger Escape Plan?

Apparently you aren't supposed to call them "grind" due to gay genra laws. It's shitty screamo with complex time sig's. I hate them all and are a disgrace to fast music.

Spazz (the band), however, are fucking awesome.

daughters get a bad wrap for reasons i dont know. they are from here in prov and dont really play many shows here anymore, its like the "old guard"<other grind and metal bands> of the scene dont approve, which i think is bullshit. the drummer is one of the loudest i ever heard live, thier sets are executed with perfection,their sound references arab on radar and the locust somewhat but arent entirely summed up by those two bands, the newer stuff is definately different. most local are jealous because they are getting big, plain and simple. alot of people give them shit for no reason. i think they are good, the newer stuff is going in a better direction. longer songs,more experimental sounds. they definately are louder and put on a better show than most metal or grind bands ive seen lately.

Daughters are cool, but I don't really like their Canada Songs album. The EP was rad though.

Anywho, you can call these two bands anything you want and they'll still sound the same.
