Cabs/Speakers For Metal?

What cabs are good for metal? What are some you guys personal preferences? Marshall? Mesa? Are Celestions the way to go for speakers? If you would, please post what cab you have, the head your running, and the overal tone you get from it all. Thanks much!

Celestions are up one of the best manufactures, but they do make shitty speakers too(celestion designed,rocket50's,ect).You wont go wrong with a 1960 from Marsahll, and recto cabs are great for metal.Depending on your budget, you could pick up a 1960 cheap,or look into ENGL,Vader,Framus, ect.I run at the moment
Ada mp-1/Mesa two ninety/Jackson cab w/V30's.-Personal favorite cab Ive played
5150/matching cab-Decent cab,But its up for sale or trade.

Depends what you want. Some cabs have warmer sounds that are perfect if you need massive low end for some br00t3l shit. But if clarity is a big issue something with vintage Celestions is what you need. L

right now my main two cabs are my vht(p50s) and framus(v30s) cabs. both sound great with my powerball.. but it's hard to make that amps ound bad. but the framus cab doesnt sound so great with my framus cobra head.... go figure.

i like v30's and g12t-75's alot. and if you can find them, oldschool 15 ohm g12-65's will kick your ass. though they seem to be running for a little over $100 a piece on the used market(the arent in production anymore) lately. luckily i found some clueless sap to sell me a quad for about $200 shipped.

it all varies though. sometimes it's just a matter of plugging them in to find out. matching brand names isnt always the best thing... like say my framus dragon cab, i think it's a bad combo with my framus cobra head.

Right now, I'm just wanting something affordable. This will be my first cab, so I wanna start out on the bottom on the totem pole and work my way up. How are Behringer for amp cabs? They run fairly inexpensive on musiciansfriend and ebay. Do they hold their own. I've read some reviews on harmonycentral and seems like no one was really disappointed with it in hard rock/metal applications. Thanks for the replies!

Not like I have owned or anything, but I am 99% sure that it will fart down when you do the really high volume thing, like band practise..

You really need a 4x12? I am using a 2x12, downgraded from 4x12 and I couldn't be happier they are cheaper aswell.. sure a 4x12 looks cooler, sounds a bit bigger and has more micing possibilites but I don't notice any difference when micing them up with a single mic close up to the cone

for lower budget i'd recommend a used 1960
if you live in germany, musicstore-koeln.de sells FAME v30 cabs new for 500€

i payed 650€ just for the materials for my self built v30 cab...
but of course my materials are better ^^

Maybe this is a stupid question, but are Vader 4x12s really any good? I've never heard any live and up-close.

Dont laugh. ive got a b52 slant cab, and its awesome with my blue voodoo, its got punchy tight lows, and pristine highs, and great mids, its an overall good cab, especially for the price, you can get one used for +/-$200
